Sorry to say this, but these are not your best work. Non of the hobbits look like their real counterparts, Arwen's hair & eyes are the wrong colour. I don't like the red noses or eyes on Gandalf & the hobbits. Aragorn & Legolas look alright & I like what you did with the former's hair.

Gandalf is beautiful!
The other characters are phenomenal!
Nice Work Grant!

Thanks, guys :)

Anonymous -- Sorry these aren't to your liking. I've always admitted that the hobbits are my weak spot when it comes to LOTR (I hate drawing them - I don't think I portray them very well). Though I was pretty happy with how this Frodo turned out.. As for the rosy noses and cheeks though, I personally think that looks good on Gandalf, Pip, and Merry -- it's true to their characters.

Either way, you'll be much happier with the next batch. :)

It just takes practice. I wanted to create a believable, original looking dragon so I drew them so much that I can draw them with my eyes closed.

I don't really like the red nose & eye effect either. But every artist likes to try some thing different with their characters every once in a while.

i think theses are great!

i love your interpretation of the hobbits. besides they can look how you want them, since the book came first. Plus experimentation and your own interpretation is what art is all about, right? But i love the way you drew and colored them! great job Grant!

keep up the good work!
