Some quick Jack action for ya --

3 New Auctions

Just wanted to give you links to three new auctions I have up on eBay -- one's a piece of original artwork, the other two are signed Avengers promo cards that I've been holding onto from San Diego Comic-Con.

Original LOTR ARWEN Artwork
Avengers Promo Card - signed by 6 Artists
Large Avengers Promo Card - signed by 5 Artists

Art/Card Trade Offer

Limited Time Arwen Print
Trade Offer

As you know, Topps' Lord of the Rings: Masterpieces are now in stores, and flooding eBay. :) I created 1,100 cards for the set, so it isn't too hard to get your hands on one of mine. I was thinking (a) it'd be cool to offer collectors some alternative option, in case they ended up getting two of mine that were duplicates, and (b) I'd love to have some of my own cards so I can give them to friends, relatives, bring them to shows, etc. Which all leads me to this limited time trade offer!

If you give me one of my sketch cards from LOTR: Masterpieces, I'll send you an 8.5"x11" full-color glossy print of the above Arwen drawing, signed by me.

Please send the card(s) to:
Grant Gould
1769 Lexington Ave. N. #156
Roseville, MN 55113

Keep in mind, the card has to be one of my sketch cards -- if you send me one by another artist, I'll just consider it a gift and you won't get a print. :P Also, please be kind and protect the card with either a hard plastic sleeve or cardboard. And make sure you include your mailing address so I can send you a print.

I'll ship anywhere - no need to include shipping costs. Just send me one of my cards and include your address. If you wanna send more than one, that's cool too -- 1 print per card. Trade offer ends December 1st, 2006.

Thanks, guys!
Oh, and just to cover my butt, I should mention that the Arwen drawing is a personal piece of fan artwork and not affiliated with Topps whatsoever. This trade offer is just something I'm doing on my own because it seemed like a fun idea. :)

Batgirl Meme 2006

Many of you probably remember last year there was this huge Batgirl fan art thread going -- tons and tons of artists drew their own versions of the character, it got all this exposure, yadda yadda. Well, the "Batgirl Meme" has returned! And I couldn't help myself, I had to participate. So this is my new version of Batgirl, and I'll give you a link to the new thread (which - mark my words - is going to get very very very long in the coming days). All you artist types may wanna add your own version to the collective - it's gonna be getting a lot of exposure. ;)

Legolas LOTRM Card

The Lord of the Rings: Masterpieces cards hit stores today, and the madness begins!! :)

Each artist was given six of their cards back to keep or sell.. I just put one of my six up on eBay. And it's only a three-day auction, so get it while the gettin's good, elf-lovers!

BSG: Colonel Tigh

Okay.. time for a little BSG love.

Those of you who've been watching season three of Battlestar Galactica know that Michael Hogan is probably the person on television who most deserves an Emmy. His performance as Colonel Tigh has been amazing and heart-wrenching, and I had to honor the character (and show) in my own dorky way by drawing some fan art.

If you're interested in getting a glossy print of this, you can -- just check out my prints page.

I'm also selling the original pencil & ink drawing. Here's a link to the eBay auction. Good hunting.. err.. bidding :)

And, Michael Hogan, if by some crazy miracle you're reading this -- Thanks for your outstanding performance on the show. You've transformed a character that was easy to hate into a man that's hard not to love.

Wormwood #3

Ben Templesmith's Wormwood: Gentleman Corpse #3 hit store shelves today! If you haven't checked it out, you should -- lots of creepiness and dark humor, and I always love Ben's art. This issue includes a full-page drawing by yours truly -- I posted it here a few months back, but I'll show it again:

Ben gave me the thumbs-up to sell prints of it, so if you're interested in an 8.5"x11" glossy print of this puppy, you can Paypal me $10 plus $5 shipping ($10 shipping if you're outside the U.S.). Send payments to "grantgould@hotmail.com" and write "WORMWOOD PRINT" in the subject line. :)

For those of you who don't check out my regular website, you should head over there and see what's new. I updated my prints page, for anyone looking to buy prints.. I also started up a Battlestar gallery..

So go check 'em -- GrantGould.com

Thought I'd also post a photo of my table from FallCon last weekend:

I'm the dork on the left, and on the right side of the pic is my table-neighbor Michael May, and you can see my girlfriend Jess Hickman sittin' behind me at her own table. :)

Mando Madness

The MN FallCon show was great -- Thanks to everyone who stopped out to say hi, thanks to everyone who bought a print or sketch -- you made this my most successful FallCon yet! And to all the artists I had the pleasure of hanging out with at the show and afterwards: It was awesome seeing you again :)

Here's the one and only color commission I did this year for FallCon (as a general rule from now on, I'll only be doing black-n-white stuff at cons -- carting around my massive color marker collection has proved to be a giant pain in the butt - it's much easier to do the color stuff at home). It's a Mandolorian piece featuring Jango's dad - Jaster Fett, and his arch-foe in the background there. I hope I got that right... heh

Anyway, I'll be back soon with a lot more photos of the various b&w sketches I did at the show.

Those of you waiting for me to reply to emails - I'll get to ya very soon. I'm still catching up from the weekend. I'll be posting info about ordering prints soon, too.

Thanks, everyone! I'll be back with more goodies probably tomorrow.

Quick Update

Hey, everyone -- This week's been kind of a lazy, sleepy week for me. I think I'm sort of recovering from my LOTR Masterpiece marathon, plus getting ready for this weekend's FallCon show. To those of you waiting on commissions, thank you so much for your patience -- I'll be hitting my "to do" list hard core next week, I promise. I think I just needed a few days of sleep to get myself back into a creative state of mind. Not to mention, I think my hand was about to fall off. :)

Don't forget - I have an original full-color drawing of Starbuck on eBay right now (with her kick ass season three tattoo!) -- Click here to check it out. :) The auction ends soon, so place a bid!

And of course, speaking of Battlestar, season three starts tomorrow!! Sci Fi channel. Be there or be square. I'm beyond excited to watch it.. It is, in my opinion, the single best show on television. If you don't believe me, tune in tomorrow night and you'll see what I mean.

Okay, talk to you guys soon. I'll be back soon with new sketches and art stuffs for sure.

Minnesota FallCon

The Minnesota FallCon Convention is this weekend - Saturday, Oct. 7th and Sunday, Oct. 8th! I'll be there doing sketches and selling prints, along with a bunch of my artist/creator buddies: Adam Hughes, Jessica Hickman, Darla Ecklund, Katie Cook, Michael May, Allison Sohn, and Paul Taylor - just to name a few. Should be a fun show. If you can, definitely come check it out! :)
