LEGO Lando & Chewie

To help promote and celebrate the release of the "original version" DVDs, as well as the new LEGO Star Wars II videogame, Lucasfilm asked me to create some How-To-Draw LEGO features. There'll be one for each movie -- The second one's up now -- Lando and Chewie, from The Empire Strikes Back. Click the graphic to check it out! :)

The Doctor is in.

I was feeling Who-y, so I created one last print for Dragon-Con (which is this weekend, in case you didn't know -- I'll have an Artist Table, come visit me and tell me I'm pretty). I tried drawing him all serious, and it looked lame, so I decided to go cartoony instead, and now I'm happier. :)

For those of you who can't make it to the show, you can order it online too. It's printed on 8.5"x11" 10pt. glossy cover stock. The actual artwork is sized at 8"x10", so you can trim it down to fit in a smaller frame if you want.

This is only available via Paypal (send to "grantgould@hotmail.com"). The cost is $10 per print, plus a total of $5 per order for shipping ($10 for non-U.S. orders). Remember to include your mailing address.

I'll sign 'em for ya, and ship 'em next week after the show, so you won't have too long to wait after you send payment. I'd imagine no more than a few days. If I sell out at Dragon-Con, I'll have to get more printed.

Unrelated note:
Those of you still waiting on commissions - You aren't forgotten. Next week I'll be hittin' my commission list again. Thanks, as always, for being patient. I know this summer's been crazy crazy. :)

Talk to you guys soon!

2 Quick Updates

1) You can see more sneak peeks of my new LOTR cards over here: http://lotrsketchcards.com/masterpieces/gould.html

Here's a look at two of 'em:

2) Dragon-Con is this weekend, and I'll have an artist table there, and I'll be on a few panels, too.. To be honest with you, it's all been kind of weird and disorganized, and apparently I'm listed as being part of things no one even told me about... So I'm gonna try to be at whatever they have me listed for, but I get the feeling I'm gonna get lost in the chaos at some point. I have NO CLUE as to what's going on at the show, or where I'm supposed to be. I'm just gonna show up with some prints and my laptop, and whatever happens happens. Hopefully everyone will be drunk anyway and I won't have anything to worry about. heh

3 Prints Available

These three prints are available to order right now: Darth Maul, Starbuck, and Buffy. Each one is printed on 8.5"x11" 10pt. glossy cover stock. The actual artwork is sized at 8"x10", so that you have the option to trim it down to fit in a smaller frame if you prefer.

This is a limited time offer and only available via Paypal (send to "grantgould@hotmail.com"). The cost is $10 per print, plus a total of $5 per order for shipping ($10 for non-U.S. orders). Remember to include your mailing address.

Again, be sure to specify which print(s) you want, and you don't need to ask me to sign 'em -- I'll make sure I sign each one. Thanks, everyone! Orders will be shipped out within a few days after I receive payment.

Children of the Grave

Just wanted to give you guys a heads-up that the "Children of the Grave" TPB by writer Tom Waltz and artist Casey Maloney hits store shelves this week. Not only is it a kick ass comic, but it also features a cover by one of my favorite artists, Dan Brereton, and exclusive pin-ups by me and my girlfriend, the talented Jess Hickman. So go buy it! :)

The Daily Scribble

Quick Announcement:

I'm the latest member of The Daily Scribble, which is an honor, because it's one of the coolest art blogs on the net and all of the artists there are amazing. So if you don't have it bookmarked already, go do so! I just posted my first pic.

Original Gould/Norton Cards

Hey, if anyone's got big-buck collector money and is interested in owning some of my original Revenge of the Sith sketch cards, I'm selling 'em on ebay! It's a set of six. If the set doesn't sell, I may try selling them individually.. Guess we'll see how it goes.

Also, if there are any Dan Norton fans out there, I'm selling some of his awesome LOTR cards, too. Check 'em out:
Norton Frodo, Aragorn, and Arwen
Norton Orcs

..
On a different note, I'm finally done with my LOTR Masterpiece cards. I'm currently (desperately) trying to finish my Avengers cards. The summer continues to be crazybusy. Those of you waiting for email replies, thank you for being patient. I promise I'll get to you very soon. :)

LOTR:M First Look!

Here's a first sneak peek at five of my Lord of the Rings: Masterpieces cards:

I'm doing 100 cards total, 60 of which will be numbered "Story Cards" (20 per movie) and 40 of which will be character images. All 100 will be full-color. If you wanna see other artists' sneak peeks for this set (and trust me, you do), check out LOTRsketchcards.com/masterpieces :)

Upppdate

Quick rundown on what's been keeping me up at night.. hehe :)

Lord of the Rings: Masterpiece cards - Hopefully I'll be finishing these up tonight!
Marvel Avengers cards - I'm way behind.. These things are going to suck up all of my time for the next several days, at least.
StarWars.com stuff - I just did some cool stuff for the site, and there's more on the way. Can't say much more right now.
Dragon-Con - Coming up in a couple weeks and I haven't even started getting ready for it.. eeks.
Red 5 comic - As soon as all the sketch cards are outta the way, I'll be diving into this again. It'll be nice to get back to this..

And of course I'm slowly chipping away at my commission list. Thanks for being patient, guys!! :)

And since I hate to leave you with no artwork, here's a quick Gandalf thingee I drew for LOTRsketchcards.com. I think it's gonna end up being like 100pixels tall, so I didn't fuss too much over details. heh.. We'll have to keep an eye on the site and see what Marleyeds does with it.

Back to the grizzle.

Wizard World Chicago

I'm back from Wizard World Chicago. Still in that post-show funk, trying to catch up on sleep and emails and get back into work mode. Here's a few photos for ya.

I think probably the two characters I got the most requests for were Gollum and Darth Maul.. Here's one of the Maul sketches I did:

A Batman drawing I did for one of the Wizard staff members:

Darla Ecklund and Stuart Immonen (Awesome to meet ya finally, Stuart!)

My pal Anton Peck (who should have his own freakin' artists alley table) and me:

Here's Tony Moore with the Starbuck drawing he did for me. I also got Starbucks from Jason Howard and Greg Titus -- both hugely talented, awesome guys. I'll scan 'em in sometime and show ya.

Boba Fett sketch:

Jugger Grimrod (from the comic series "Alien Legion") drawing I did for Matt Reed:

My version of Jugger, and Tom Hodges' version:

This was drawn on a sticker faceplate decal thingee for an Xbox 360 (kinda hard to see where the sticker lines are in the photo) -- He wanted a cartoony Battlestar pic with Starbuck facing off with Six. I thought it was pretty fun to do :)

I met Ray Park! :) He was a very nice dude, and I gave him one of my Maul prints, because I'm a nerd.

A sketch card I did for my blog pal Checkmark -- it's one of Grievous' bodyguard guys. I didn't have reference with me, so I kinda had to wing it.

Went out to breakfast sunday morning with Tom, Darla, and the Immonen Clan:

Another Maul sketch:

I was doin' $10 quick sketches, and that seemed to work out well, so I may try that again at the next show..

Anyway, over all, Chicago treated me well. I've heard a lot of other artists complaining that it was slow, but it wasn't for me at all. I had a great time, sold a lot of stuff, and can't complain at all. Best Wizard World I've done so far for sure.

I had some great roomies for the show, too -- Tom Hodges, Andrew Bawidamann, and Andrew's pal Woody, who's also a super-talented artist and kept getting confused for Sean Astin at the show.

Oh, and I wanted to mention that Tom and I will be mentioned over at yodasnews.com later this week.. Not sure exactly what that means, if it'll show photos of us or an article or what, but I'll be keeping my eye open for it.

Ummm.. I think that's it. I apologize if I left someone or something important out. My brain is fried.

Thanks again to everyone who stopped out! It was great seeing you guys, and the show was a big success, which is good for me, because frankly I was in slightly low spirits after selling hardly anything at Comic-Con.. heh :)

Peace ooooooot

Maul.. Darth Maul.

Okay, I monkeyed around with the pic and colored it. Here it is:

If I had more time I would've added in some other elements, but that's okay. I tend to ruin stuff when I overthink it anyway. :) I'll probably make a few prints of this for Wizard World Chicago, in case anyone's feeling Sithy.

Gotta get back to work now. Lots tooo doooo.

Avengers Samples

I'm selling my six sample Avengers cards, if anyone's interested --
Click here to check it out!

Maulie McSithface

While taking a short break from sketch cards I drew this Maul pic -- well, this is part of the pic. If I get time, I may color it. Might be cool to bring a Maul print to WW Chicago. We'll see. The hours are flyin' by. @.@
