How To Draw Asajj

My latest "How To Draw" Kids Feature for is up now -- featuring that nasty lil' Sith Witch, Asajj Ventress.

Baltar Book Cover

I took a little break from work tonight to have some Battlestar Galactica fanboy fun.. I recreated the cover of Baltar's book from "Dirty Hands." I grabbed a few screencaps from the episode, Googled for James Callis' photo (then attacked it with Photoshop filters), found a font that looked right.. basically did everything I could to make it look as much like the actual prop as possible.

So there ya go.. I hope you other BSG fans out there dig it. :) Here's an 8.5x11 print-ready version for those of you that wanna hang it on your fridge or wall or somethin'..

Alrightee, back to work. heh

Waiting to ship

Some of you are waiting to get a package from me (eBay wins & prints) -- I just wanted to let ya know the reason I haven't shipped 'em yet is because I'm supposed to be getting my new promo cards any day now and I wanted to include one of 'em in your packages. Normally I try to mail stuff off right away, so I feel guilty having these sittin' on my desk.. heh :)

Anyway, if you're waiting on a package and don't care about the new promo cards, just send an email my way and tell me to go ahead and ship now. Otherwise I'll just keep waiting for the cards to arrive -- it shouldn't be much longer.

Thanks, as always, for your patience, everyone! Busy busy busy :)

Robbins Interview

I had the honor of conducting a community interview with Battlestar Galactica actor Ryan Robbins (who appeared in the mini-series and now season 3) -- It's a really fun interview, any fan of the show should check it out. :)

DeviantART Buffy

I've been getting hundreds of messages today regarding my Buffy artwork on DeviantART... I had no clue what the heck was going on! So I looked at their main page and it turns out they chose that drawing as one of their daily spotlights. Aah-haa, mystery solved. So, thanks to the DeviantART people for the unexpected attention! I'm glad (most) people seem to like it. :)

Solo/Fett Promo ACTION!

Those of you who've ordered stuff from me have gotten one of my promo cards (the 4x6 thing with Iron Man & Captain America on one side, Eowyn & the Witch-King on the other). Well, I'm almost out of those, so it was time to design a new promo card. And since Celebration IV is right around the corner, I thought I'd make it Star Wars themed. Me am smarrt!

Here's a look at the back of my new card (or front, however you want to look at it):

I'm also selling the original drawings of Han and Boba over at my eBay store, so go check 'em out! :)

Friday, February 16, 2007

I guess I wanted to try something different - wanted to do something kinda funky. This was drawn on red cardstock paper. It's for sale (3 days only, starting at only 99 cents!!) over at my eBay store. :)

I don't know if my scanner's being weird or what.. Just so ya know, the actual artwork isn't blaring neon red -- it's actually a much cooler, calmer red. Then again, it could just be my monitor. o.O Blah, scanners suck. These drawings always look so much better if you see 'em in person.

Thanks, everyone! Have a good weekend -
I should have some more new stuff for ya soon.

Update (and Boba)

Hey, everyone -- Figured I'd give you a quick update on what I've been up to.

As always, time's flying by. I can't believe February's already half over. I still haven't been able to finish up my zombie novel (I can't ever seem to find the time to work on it)... But hey, being busy isn't a bad thing. Unfortunately, for as busy as I am, things aren't looking up in the financial department, so please check out my eBay auctions, and if ya see somethin' ya like, grab it up! I would be most loving and appreciative. :)

Anyway, so right now I'm working on a big batch of illustrations for a new "Mutants & Masterminds" RPG sourcebook called Hero High, to be published by Green Ronin later this year. I've also started working on my limited edition art print for Star Wars Celebration 4, which is tons of fun and hugely intimidating. I want to make it one of the coolest things I've ever drawn, for sure - and it has to go through an approval process with Lucasfilm. Once the prelim is approved, I'm hoping to take a solid week or so to work on it. Like I said, I really want it to be fun and something I'm proud of.

Aside from those two projects, I've been chipping away at the ol' commission list, as always. My goal is to be 100% caught up on commissions by April/May, so I'll do my best.

And since I hate to post here without showing any new art, here's a new art magnet I drew, featuring Boba. (It's on its way to you right now, Mike - I hope ya like it!) :)

Oh, and I've got a few new things over at the Daily Scribble too.

Okay, folks - that's it for this update! Talk to ya later --

LOP Mag & Starbuck

Two quick things --

1) I was interviewed by LOP Magazine over on their MySpace page -- Click here to check it out! :)

2) Here's a new Starbuck pic, colored with Prismacolors, etc:

Happy Birffday, Jess!

I drew this for my girlfriend -- It's her character Space Quint (based on our cat Quint). The whole "bunny army" thing is sort of an inside joke. :)
